If I order a domain name say like “blahblahblah.com”at ABCregistrar.com, what will my domain name be, blahblahblah.com, or ABCregistrar.com/blahblahblah.com?

Can you change your home address at a later date on your domain and will the old address show up or be found once up dated?

I’d love to hear what you think about Google’s domain service ….

Hey, Christian, excellent video on domain names; best I’ve seen. You are right on vis-a-vis the several you mention that I’ve used–especially the most-popular: GoDaddy. I teach English and know the language inside-out, but I’m horrible technologically. This deficiency is particularly nasty when it comes to domain names. I have become involved in creating domain names, and I’ve come up with several decent ones, I do believe–but I just don’t understand how to sell them on the usual sites–e.g., GoDaddy, Sedo, NameSilo, and Afternic. I just don’t understand the seemingly easy-to-understand directions, like, apparently, every other domainer. Do you know of any sites on YouTube that could be called Domain Names for Dummies? Have you written anything that would help folks like me–something in the vain of the text I wrote: "The ‘I-Hate-To-Write" Writing Guide"? Any help or guidance you supply would be much-appreciated! 28. Jim Farrugia on March 20, 2021 at 2:17 am

Hey thanks for the straightforward comparison. Seems hard to find good honest info with all the marketing BS around this topic online. I was looking for a good host to transfer away from godaddy to. I went with namesilo after watching your video. Thanks!

Choose Namesilo, it’s the best. You can also use discount code "Discount4You".

UPDATE: There have been quite a few changes in the domain industry since I made this video, so I made a BRAND NEW 2019 comparison you can watch here! https://craylor.co/53z53

Hi Christian, absolutely loved your video! I’m currently using Namecheap for web registration and Zoho Mail for @company.com accounts. I just stumbled upon porkbun.com, and I see they offer both these products alltogether. Have you (or anyone) heard about them? It’s a little cheaper, customer service seems to be one of their top priorities and also has a site building tool, which makes it a better all around value, on paper. Hope we can start some kind of a productive debate here, thanks for reading! Saludos desde España!

  34. kijiki on March 20, 2021 at 2:26 am

i heard stories about domain registrars that register your domain under their name and not yours so they own it and if your name becomes of great value you have to buy it again from them. are they true?

  35. shitpostistan tv on March 20, 2021 at 2:28 am

I buy my domains from Dotintosh.com. They only sell premium domains. Nothing else. No .net, no dashes, no nothing.

  36. Simon vlad on March 20, 2021 at 2:29 am

thank you for valuable video i think domitree.com is the best to buy domains

  37. Thumper on March 20, 2021 at 2:29 am

You left out one category out, How easy is it to transfer the domain to your host service, I recently brought a domain from Go Daddy just to find out I had to wait 60 days I think it was, and after the waiting period ended, I ended up deleteing the domain because they still made it very difficult to transfer, cost me a whole dollar. Oh well lesson learned. Namesolo was very easy to switch I think because they are not a hosting company, they just sell domain names. If you pay attention to what you are doing when you signup it’s easy, make sure you put your hosting Name Servers IP in when you signup, then wait a couple hours, and add to your hosting account, I use Host Gater, and all I had to do was add the domain, and install my wordpress, and I was good to go.

  38. Marshall Curtis on March 20, 2021 at 2:30 am

I love your style of comparison, listing positives in green, and negatives in red, in a large and easy to read font on a white background.

I watched this video maybe a month ago, found it an exceptional resource. Came back to remember what website I choose. Thank you

    Great video!!!!

  41. Gail Becker on March 20, 2021 at 2:34 am

Thank you! Go Daddy should be sued for deception!

  42. D Stanoev on March 20, 2021 at 2:34 am

Do NOT buy ANY of the GoDaddy services! You’ll definitely be tricked to pay 3-5 times the price without even realizing. How can they ask extra $ for email adress with your domain name??? Fuc* GoDaddy! Their entire business model is building websites and apps, selling Google products for ridiculous prices! Including GoDaddy’s SmartLine app, which is same as Google voice but not free?!? $10 US/month 😠.
Excellent video! I hope it will be an eye opener for more people!

I’m thinking about going with Namecheap. As of May 2018 I see they now offer free WHOIS protection. Now that they offer this, would you put them at the top of the list?
