Leave will be automatically extended to 31 May 2020, for individuals who are at present not able to go back to their home country at the end of their visa.
The United Kingdom Home Secretary Priti Patel, announced on 24 March 2020, that the extension will apply to any individual whose leave expired after the 24 January 2020 and who are unable to depart from the United Kingdom due to the self-isolation or travel restrictions.
This will last until 31 May but will be kept under regular review in case further extensions are needed.
A specialized COVID-19 immigration team has been founded within United Kingdom Visa and Immigration (UKVI) to make the procedure as simple as possible. Any individual in this condition is required to just get in touch with this team, via this email address CIH@homeoffice.gov.uk, to inform them about their visa expiration and they will be granted an extension.
To aid those who desire to apply for visas to stay in the United Kingdom on long-term basis, the UK Home Office is also for the time being increasing the in-country switching facilities.
This denotes that individuals can apply to switch visa routes, such as from Tier 4 (student) to Tier 2 (General Worker), while staying inside the United Kingdom. United Kingdom Visa and Immigration will carry on processing visa applications as fast as possible, nevertheless few visa applications may take longer than usual due to COVID-19 linked operational difficulties.
Priti Patel stated:
The United Kingdom will keep on putting the wellbeing and health of people first and no one will be penalised for conditions which are beyond their control.
By extending visas, we are providing foreign nationals composure and also making sure that those in essential services can continue their work.
Those individuals who get in touch with the Home Office for these visa extensions will be anticipated to go back to their country of origin as soon as possible once flight and border limitations are cancelled. No immigration enforcement action will commence during this period for those foreign nationals who email the Home Office as mentioned in this video.
Bearing in mind the present recommendation on self-isolation and social distancing, the United Kingdom Home Office is also putting aside a number of obligations on visa sponsors, for example permitting non-EU nationals in the United Kingdom on work or study visa routes to continue their work or study from their home.

Why is this channel for only illegal immigrants
It could be a great help to the passed out post graduates in the science stream there for Radiologist Physiotherapist Nurses etc whose extended visa till 31st of May could get extension further for 2years as these Graduates were looking for a Job and also for a sponsorship in their respective fields this are all international post graduates they are quite disturbed Due to covid 19 and we’re unable to get a job due to Lock down it will benefit the graduates and the British government if the Extension is granted to the post graduates international, passed out
