Sadly, I thought this too. However as a small business owner in the UK I bought the .co.uk and .com. I decided only to renew one extension and the first day the other extension lapsed after the renewal period a Chinese company came along and launched their own company off my previously owned domain name. So it’s been a nightmare trying to bury their website in SE results. So this time round with my new business – I’ve bought 11 domain names from a recommended seller for £45. To avoid the hasstles I’ve had in the past – I’d gladly pay £450 a year! And at least I don’t have to compensate by paying extra in marketing.
