Wouldn’t be surprised if epik was a honeypot the whole time with how horrible their security is.

  2. alan padgett on March 31, 2022 at 7:24 pm

Anonymous is just a cia/nsa asset at this point

  3. Zerg Radio on March 31, 2022 at 7:25 pm

I just do not understand how something so simple using encryption by a company is never implemented?
Is it more expensive to get someone to do the job of encryption and security or is it just pure laziness or?

  11. Robert English on March 31, 2022 at 7:37 pm

Well, without hacking groups and pen-testers, we would have very little idea how insecure our data is when in others hands, especially corporations that have so much of it, and are irresponsible, but going after them for hosting disagreeable clients, instead of those clients they are in disagreement with, is unfair, and even counterproductive. Maybe Anonymous should have kept it quiet, and used the vulnerabilities to directly target those they see as their enemies, and keeping the door open, instead of blabbering about it, so that Epik tightens their security and prevents them from gaining future access. Well, it just goes to show that just because someone is smart at one thing, they aren’t stupid otherwise!

I have always wondered why they shut down their opponents sights and break shit, instead of locking the site owners out, and changing the content on display! Now that sounds like a lot more fun! (<:

Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view!"
Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam."
Mrs Richards: "It’s not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?…"
Mrs Richards: "Don’t be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it’s over there between the land and the sky."
Mrs Richards: "I’m not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa’s not erupting at the moment ?"

The new development is this was done by fascists. Not anonymous

  27. Rusty Water on March 31, 2022 at 7:50 pm

Why isn’t anonymous hacking the GOP money men behind the lies? Show their voters what they’re really voting for. Keep the politicians honest.

  28. thecocopopscroc on March 31, 2022 at 7:51 pm

i like that. far right, if you’re slightly right of centre you’re far right according to the media so i take far right with a pinch of salt, i may not agree with what you are saying but i’ll defend your right to say it anyway

  29. vgamesx1 on March 31, 2022 at 7:53 pm

8:00 Ignoring the obvious here, these guys sound incredibly delusional and don’t seem to understand that the "good guys" are only getting paid because of THEM, like if somebody mugs you and says "pay me money so you won’t get mugged" then you’re probably going to avoid paying them as much as possible and maybe even hire a bodyguard to protect you.

  30. Chaaos2 on March 31, 2022 at 7:54 pm

Free speech is the most important pillar in any democratic society

  31. Doc Malitt on March 31, 2022 at 7:56 pm

I’m not quite sure that hacking right wing (or even just right leaning) content/hosting is a way to confront the rise of their popularity. Are we afraid what lurks in the shadows or if even the numbers are much higher than we as a society would feel comfortable… but burying our head in the sand and crying like babies will not make the problem go away. As much as I am very sympathetic (more than I would like to admit) to such epik fails of …. I still think more mature response is needed on the global level because we are witnessing the radicalism getting into the mainstream from fringes where they until just few years undoubtedly belonged. Also as much as I hate/dislike some sites/providers – free speach means free speach. For everybody. Period.

  32. paul tidwell on March 31, 2022 at 7:59 pm

I’ve been tinkering with shit related to tech for so long I’m not surprised at all how much of a Joke Epiks security was. I happen to know for YEARS if you had a unprovisioned modem on time warners servers all you had to do was bring your own DNS server and you had internet access and burst out of the walled garden. the united states having a strong security culture is a hilarious joke. it doesn’t.

  33. Karma Shim on March 31, 2022 at 7:59 pm

Just wondering if the same people who praise Assange feel the same for Anonymous and vice-versa.

  34. Frozen Knight on March 31, 2022 at 8:01 pm

Okay, while I may disagree with a lot of content on the internet. I believe it has a right to exist. Similar to how I don’t believe in banning or destroying any book. (No matter his much I disagre with it.)
So, when someone deplatforms a website, to me that is the equivlant of trying to destroy a book or idea. Which to me is one of the greatest sins one can commit. So to me seeing Anonymous attack a website which is hosting said sites like this downright hipocritical. (Its in their motto "never forget".) So while I agree with much of anonymous actions. This Epic hack was a bad move on their part. (The only time I agree with any kind of deolatforming is temporaty, when things like viruses are detected and the site needs to be brought down for repair and to protect users.)

If you really want a reason for my position here, what happens if the political water swings the other way, and these sites get to cancel the content which is currently mainstream? What happens if another religion (not one you agree with) takes power and cancels your religion? These things may seem far fetched, but they have happened in the past and can easily happen again. And if we lay the groundwork for them now it will be that much worse if it does happen. So we need to protect the right of others to disagree with us, no matter how stupid, concerning, or disgusting that content is. At the very least we can monitor that content if its out in the open, and mitigate any dangers. If it goes underground who knows what can happen.

  35. NuncNuncNuncNunc on March 31, 2022 at 8:02 pm

If you say the sites "are not too pleasant," name the sites or at least describe the type of content they carry. What is not to pleasant? Pictures of corpses? Hate speech? Calls to overthrow the government?

  36. hardeeharhar on March 31, 2022 at 8:03 pm

These Far Right piles of garbage, dividing America. Expose them all!!!!

  37. Galen Thurber on March 31, 2022 at 8:06 pm

    Monster chronic liar

  38. john doe on March 31, 2022 at 8:07 pm

1:10, you might not like it, anonymous might not like it, and i might not like it. it does not matter. free speach for everyone, and this means in this day and age at least a webprovider, if companys start acting like reeducationcamps. while I here, who says that the data transmitted/published by anonymous was the content they breached in. whos to say anonymous isnt forging these. why wouldnt china be interessted in gathering those informations with an organisation decentral and anonymous. if both side of the political spectrum would be treaded the same way in western media, we as society would be way closer to a solution.

  39. Greg Raven on March 31, 2022 at 8:07 pm

If content isn’t illegal, I don’t understand what the problem is with hosting it.

  40. Mike Flowers on March 31, 2022 at 8:07 pm

Why don’t hackers hack Russia or China? Because our government can’t or won’t do anything it seems.

  41. DawnPraiser on March 31, 2022 at 8:08 pm

right wingers cope with the fact even left wing or centrists can claim to be Anonymous. get real people, no glowies required when epik handled security issues by praying to god ffs.

  42. chronoss chiron on March 31, 2022 at 8:15 pm

anonymous is fbi …out of here

  43. Graham Elliott on March 31, 2022 at 8:16 pm

    bruuuuh

  44. Caroline Richards on March 31, 2022 at 8:18 pm

A lot of talk about free speech here. I agree with freedom of speech. What I don’t agree with is hiding behind a website. If you say it you should own it.

  45. Val Ghyna on March 31, 2022 at 8:18 pm

    Smells of 3 letter folks

  46. Martín on March 31, 2022 at 8:20 pm

Like it or not, free speech is a right no matter your political views. You can disagree with someone’s ideology but you can’t take away their right to speak freely. I completely get it if a site which promotes hate or violence gets shut down, but those were probably 1% of all the sites hosted in epik. Anonymous did this mostly because they don’t agree with sites with opposing political opinions.

I find it very disappointing that a group of people hacked the provider of thousands of legitimate sites, just because they didn’t agree with the opinions that were presented on them. Specially considering they are calling themselves anonymous, which is an "identity" that I always considered to be pro free-speech and not politicised like this.

  47. Faik Sevim on March 31, 2022 at 8:21 pm

guys where all these leaks are sharing? There are always blurred forums

  48. Nick Maietta on March 31, 2022 at 8:21 pm

My company became a target of DDoS and social engineering attacks trying to pull information from out team members. Too bad they are too stupid to figure out that we are actually a cybersecurity company 🙂 It’s ironic that Anonymous is attacking a company that has been quite helpful to … Anonymous in that they can register their domains and host websites that won’t get taken down easily by Epik. It is extremely frustrating to see that Epik has given a pathetic response to this breach. So much so, that it’s caused me to have to go looking elsewhere for a domain registrar to move all of the rest of my portfolio to. That’s super frustrating in itself, because Epik is the only company I could have trusted with my domains and now that’s out of the question. NO OTHER COMPANY CAN BE TRUSTED.

  49. C'est La vie on March 31, 2022 at 8:21 pm

Yeah, anon has antified extremely to the left. Anon now is the political monolithic evil they once fought.

  50. Flazzorb The Fictional on March 31, 2022 at 8:22 pm

I’m not a fan of the fact that this was done, but frankly this was an attack that they brought on themselves.
