I wonder if there’s a UYKE CPU out there. Or maybe YKUE, UKEY, etc. Or a UEYK.

  3. David Carter on May 26, 2021 at 7:39 am

I’m not sure why anyone would want to "overclock" during gameplay, you’ll just risk over-heating your CPU and Graphic’s Card until they’re both damaged and no longer usable.

Dude just google “what does the cpu name mean” and read a 1 min website.

The reason Techquiche does this is to waste your time and get money from views.

Have i ever seen a crowd of people wasting time?

  50. Rendor Williams on May 26, 2021 at 8:33 am

Thank you so much for this explanation of part of their chip naming.

Intel Chip Naming is a Big Box of Tangled String
Intel has different Cores i3, i5, i7, i9, and Xeon.
Each one of those has at least 10 different versions of it.
They use a bunch of 5 digit numbers that are not always in order.
They have like 11 different "Architectures", roughly one per year.
Each Architecture has its own name.
All of the architectures either look similar or sound similar, like Lake, or Coffee, or Skylake, or Bridge, on and on.
    There are like 11 "Generations".
    There are varying number of Cores, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 etc
Some of the chips are for Desktop, some for Mobile, some are Embedded.
Each and every dimension that I’ve listed so far, can be intermixed, intermingled, intertwined with every other dimension I’ve listed so far.
Plus there’s a lot of factors that I haven’t mentioned.

Wikipedia has a ton of information, but it’s like jumping into the ocean and trying to write down the names of all the fish you see.
Intel has a lot of lists on its website too.
I’ve copied dozens of files, I’ve created 5 subdirectories, ~30 files, and many many hyperlinks connecting those files together.
I have been working for 4 to 10 hours per session, for at least 3 sessions trying to figure all of this stuff out.
I think that Intel is intentionally trying obfuscate/confuse/befuddle the outsiders, so that they cannot make an intelligent decision, and instead just have to rely on the marketing hype.
    THIS IS RIDICULOUS !!!!!!

They should name their Chips as follows: Year, Month, Day, # of Cores, Base Clock Speed, Architecture, Familiar name.
Then they should have an easy-to-access webpage where people can look up all of the detailed information about that chip from their website.
    Examples (made-up):
Intel 2021.04.08, 8 Core, 3.8 MHz, Cypress Cove, Invigerator, or
Intel 2020.11.05, 6 Core, 3.4 MHz, Comet Lake, Leveller Upper, or
Intel 2017.06.23, 4 Core, 2.9 MHz, Kaby Lake, Monster Killer, or whatever
