How to Use the Suffix "ish" | English Lesson

Here is a way you can sound more natural! Simply start using the suffix “-ish”.

Click “CC” for English subtitles.

Adding “ish” to the end of words is something that native English-speakers do all the time, but it’s rarely talked about in English textbooks or classrooms. Knowing how to use it can also help you when you don’t know the precise word to describe something.

Examples: babyish, seventyish, smallish, whitish.

You can also use it on its own to answer certain questions! Watch to find out how!
