How to Transfer a Domain from GoDaddy to Cloudflare (Use Cloudflare as Your Domain Registrar!)

In this video we will walk through the process of transferring a domain name that is currently on GoDaddy, to Cloudflare, where we will be able to take advantage of Cloudflare’s super-low domain renewal pricing through the Cloudflare registrar: https://www.cloudflare.com/products/registrar/

There are a few reasons why I really like Cloudflare, and a lot of reasons why I prefer not to use GoDaddy. You can learn all about why in this video, where I compare GoDaddy and Namecheap, and have a shout-out to Cloudflare in this video as well. In short: If you’re looking for the cheapest way to renew your domains year after year, Cloudflare is your best bet (and no… before you ask … I don’t make any money by recommending them to you – this is what I use for my own domains!)

The instructions in this video will help someone who is trying to transfer their domain to a registrar that is NOT Cloudflare, as well, but you’ll probably have to skip the part of the video where I change the nameservers – that section is Cloudflare-specific.

If you have any questions, or if you get stuck, leave a comment below.

– If you’re looking to buy a NEW domain name, check out Namecheap: https://www.wiyre.com/recommends/namecheapdotcom/
– Need web hosting? Check out Bluehost! They are great for WordPress sites: https://www.wiyre.com/recommends/bluehost/

Both of these options are affordable, easy, and best of all, it helps support this channel, at no additional cost to you!

I have just purchased my domain name from Godaddy for 2years and changed the name server too. So do I have to pay again to cloudflare for transferring my domain???

Hello my friend, do not laugh at me. I have currently 150 (!) domains on godaddy. Now i want to move ALL … do you recommend cloudflare? I use a lot of WordPress and want to sell some.. whois protection free is good… and I do not lose the time of registry etc. Any downsides? CDN will be good right, I am just confused why you recommend namecheap in description not Cloudflare

Cloudflare or Google for Domain hosting? Which would you say? I heard lots of good things about both. And told that the domain hosting service can affect website performance and one should move away from their web host providers and domain host with either cloudflare or google who are two of the best. Do you know any of the differences?

Does Cloudflare keep the contact info of the domain name private? Or is that extra?

Nice video – spot on and very helpful. Question: Does Cloudflare now point to the Go Daddy Hosting or are there additional changes needed? If the A records in Cloudflare have the Go Daddy IP Address, does this connect the domain to the Go Daddy hosting plan?
