"Non-English" is a type of brand name? So is this talk only useful for native English speakers?

How to create a brand name?
1-select the type of name that you want
Jonathan outlines the following seven categories of brand names:
    1. Eponymous (e.g., Disney, Adidas, Tesla)
    2. Descriptive (e.g., American Airlines, The Home Depot)
    3. Acronymic (e.g., GE, BP, KFC, HSBC)
    4. Suggestive (e.g., Uber, Slack, Facebook, Pinterest)
    5. Associative (e.g., SiriusXM, Red Bull)
    6. Non-English (e.g., Samsung, Lego, Hulu)
    7. Abstract (e.g., Rolex, Kodak)

2-decide what you want the name to say
    1- Descriptive + functional
    a. Who created them: Dell
    b. What you do: Microsoft
    c. Where you operate: Southwest
    2- Idea + emotion
    a. Nike: is about wining
    b. Apple: is about simplicity and usability
    c. Google: coming from a math term
    3-check the name is available
Note: check if the name is negative in other languages or countries

Jonathan Bell : "Check the name does not mean anything negative on other languages or countries"
    Also Jonathan Bell : 5:30 "abc.xyz"
Just to make it more clear:
"Xyz" looks like Russian "Хуй" and I think you are clever enough to google the meaning of that.

In a summary, this video appears to have been heavily abbreviated and should have explained more about how brand names should be tailored to specific brands with specific messages. This was basically a list of different types of brand names…

  43. Seamus McMasters on February 9, 2021 at 4:28 am

Kentucky Fried Chicken changed to KFC because the State of Kentucky was broke and got the idea to Trademark it’s name and began sueing companies to get money. This is why the Kentucky Derby was changed as well.
