    I’m sure that Wix would prefer it’s free users to transfer hosting of their domain names to its own servers (via an upgrade), but your method is useful if you just want to point a domain name to your free Wix site without all the dns rigmarole. You won’t get rid of the Wix ads, but some domain name registrars allow masking, which could allow Google ranking, but as I haven’t tried this I can’t confirm it.
