One large Africa nation can change its phone code to 2+ and another neighboring African nation to 29+

  2. Jealousstaffsaresounattractive JealousstaffsrUGLY on May 11, 2022 at 10:24 pm

START THE RACE FOR THE NATIONAL PHONE CODE 29+ excluding Egypt because of Cornell:How did people decide on national phone codes in the 20th century? Depending on geography and🧚🏾cultures

This title is so wrong and fallacious. How can you compare a country (China) to a whole continent (Africa)? This in itself shows the despise and lack of respect being evoked in this very documentary 😊. In addition, why say Africa when really the focus is on Ethiopia 🇪🇹 (which is, I agree, an economic leader in African)?

  6. Chris S on May 11, 2022 at 10:32 pm

Will the African people themselves proper or foreign rich investors.

I think, not only do women have to gain a college degree, they also have to raise many children since this role is irreplaceable. My kind of woman is the one who is a loving mother that cooks dinner for her family, after coming home from a board of director’s meeting that afternoon.

The Economist has really gone downhill. Once it was a serious publication that dealt with the real world of economics in a balanced way, now it just pushes infantile woke ideology and shills for China.

Africa needs war machines if we want to rise

Shame on you the economist 👎

  11. Frank on May 11, 2022 at 10:35 pm

I really hope Africa can be rival of Europe or US instead. China is not as rich as Europe or US. Colonial countries still had mentality that African countries do not deserve more.

The continental peoples should still keep manufacturing as a means of producing goods they should not directly challenge china but instead manufacture their own authentic wares using traditional methods trademark copywrite and patent also keep their intellectual property to themselves never LLC and never let anyone observe study visit benchmark inspect their methods or by any means usurp them including romantically they (contentinal) africans should send their people to colleges and universities for agronomy for better farming methods while not using poisoness chemicals that destroy valuable water sources fresh underground and ocean sources solar power wind power like the Dutch and their water management systems also the swedish are equally adept at water systems and start sending their children aboard to study at the finest of institutions of higher learning but keep it on the QT so no one is the wiser because the continental invasionary forces have begun with a just a scout (emissary) sent to observe what was going on
    power to the people

I find the report to shallow and ill conceived. Only using Ethiopian content to characterize the entire Africa.

Africa and South America are wealthy BUT big corporations and oligarchs have stolen their human and natural resources. Instead of causing cconflicts it would be nice if they invested in the people.

The reason why there needs to be a "RISE" in the number of road paving contractors on The Continent, is because there are so many of those roads that desperately need it.

Interesting, how Ethiopian capital is doing now when they are in civil war where rebel almost near to capital city.

  48. Chris S on May 11, 2022 at 11:19 pm

Those kids coding I thoroughly enjoyed seeing. And African countries I agree need all types of labor skills and specialized training to maintain independent prosperity of its ancient citizens. And I want to see the people paid. Low wages are not acceptable the people should be paid the same as the riches countries on planet true trade means you pay for what the people produce.

  49. Chao Gao on May 11, 2022 at 11:22 pm

I hope one day The Economist will realize Africa is a continent just like North America or Asia! Such ignorance cannot be tolerated anymore.
