Very interesting!!! Fantastic video 🙂 !!! Hey, just a note. Sir, are you aware, the sequence of your verbal-words do not match the sequence of your written words at the "25 Second" point in this video? In particular: written at the top is > WHAT THIS IS? However, your verbal-words transpose to say: > What is this? Keep up the fantastic informative videos.   Thank you, Howard

What is the difference between using different domain registrars from different countries such as Godaddy, Crazydomains vs. Porkbun? Porkbun offered me 311.89 for 10 years while Godaddy for $1000+ and Crazydomains for $ 676 for using .design extension? Should I stick with an Australian domain registrar if I am located in Australia? Thanks.

    Hi, Ben!
I have a question for you. What if the domain name I chose is being used (in a slight different way, because of the language) by a design agency of another country?
Should I choose it anyway or is this problematic?
    Thank you!

If someone is starting a brand or business, maybe buying 10 domains isn’t the best in case they change names or pivot products/services. But I know Ben is saying to cover your bases to be safe in case the business takes off/does well. An risky initial cost.

I had watched this video in the past; I watched it again as I’m trying to come up with a name for my design firm. The Futur, I need some help as I’m quite confused.

I’m thinking ‘Wecare’ as the name for the design firm. But I think it might look (to the potential customers) like a health-care or medicine company/organization. On the other hand, I also think it doesn’t matter how potential customers look at the name (of your brand); what matters is how your (regular) customers look and feel about your brand.

I’m quite confused about this. I’d really appreciate your feedback. Thanks in advance. And thank you for the value you’re providing to the design community!!

Registering a ".design" or ".art" or whatever… VERY bad idea. You will CONSTANTLY be under the shadow of the ".com" and it is long, as he acknowledges. This guy and his company are also admitting that they have a deal where they are getting a percentage of the profit if you register this type of terrible domain. But they are not giving good advice. If you have a geographically focused site, you can register a "country code TLD" such as ".mx" for Mexico or ".ca" for Canada, etc., or if you’re a non-profit, ".org" is respected. But in other cases, stick with the ".com".

Should I put a comma and LLC after my business name? Or leave the LLC out of it?

  32. Heimdall on January 6, 2021 at 11:36 pm

Why do you think its becoming a trend to have long domain names? It’s because everything is taken! Mostly by shitty company’s who want you to buy their domain for stupid prices.

No offence but how a bunch of talented designers agreed on the name "Blind" for visual media? Like no one made fun or was turned off by that name in your beginnings? Like: are those designers blind, only blind people would want those designs etc. Right now you are established, great portfolio etc. so it can be seen as tongue in cheek but how is before that?

You don’t realize that the omission of the "e" at the end of thefutur breaks at least one of your rules.
