    there should be
    domain name insurance
    that covers a years worth of domain name renewals after such an event

    or

    the persons portfolio is managed by a trust that is made up by some industry professionals eg the owners of the main registrars and a few domain name brokers

    there should ne a standard recognised proceedure that should be followed in such a situation and whereby the members of a domain name estate planning panel can use common sense to collectively make portfolio based decisions in the interests of and on behalf of a late owner etc

    most people wouldnt know what to do with a domain name if they were left a domain name by an investor
