Calvin Ayre Indicted, Bodog.com Domain Name Seized: Sportsbook Industry News Special Report

Calvin Ayre, the founder of international internet gaming company Bodog, and a long-time target of the US government, was recently indicted once again by the US government, along with 3 others, on illegal gambling and money laundering charges. The web domain Bodog.com was also seized.

But this likely won’t have much of a real effect anywhere, and is likely just another in a long line of “bully” tactics meant to scare international operators and US players. No bank accounts or funds were seized, and the website Bodog.com itself had not been operational for a while at the time of the seizure.

SportsBookReview reporter Peter Loshak summarized what happened over the past few days, and includes some quotes from Calvin Ayre himself on the matter.
